Horse Riding

We don’t offer proper horse riding tours, instead we offer for you to bring your own horse and utilize our services.

Location

The farm Storulaugar is located at Laugar in Reykjadal only 61 km east of Akureyri and 31 km from Husavik. We are located on the road nr. 846 only 800 meters from Laugar college. To reach us drive to the college and from there turn left.

Activities

Perfect place to relax and enjoy open air activities

At our farm you can find various activities. Just a short distance from the farm, you find natural pearls such as Godafoss, Myvatn, Dimmuborgir, Dettifoss, Asbyrgi, whale watching at Husavik and the transportation museum at Ystafell.

We offer accommodation, breakfast and dinner in quiet and beautiful environment. Relax at the hot tube on the veranda and enjoy the silence.

Great walking trails cover the surrounding area. Take a hike along the beautiful river Reykjadalsá or walk the road that takes you up to Hvitafell mountain. Nothing compares a nice quite walk on your own or in company of someone you care for in peaceful countryside of Reykjadalur.

Many riding trail converge on the farm from all directions. You can bring your own horse and utilize our services both in accommodation or dining. Relax in the hot tube, go for daytrips in great environment or get provisions at your layover.
